Биография
Джон Эббот родился в 1751 году[2] в Лондоне.
Он мигрировал в Америку в 1773 году, обосновавшись в Виргинии[1]. К 1776 году Джон Эббот мигрировал в штат Джорджия, где он провёл большую часть оставшейся жизни[1].
Джон Эббот делал иллюстрации по орнитологии и по энтомологии[1]. Он является автором 40 научных работ в 63 публикациях на 3 языках[1].
Джон Эббот умер около 1840 года[3] в округе Баллок в США.
Научная деятельность
Джон Эббот специализировался на семенных растениях[3]. Он занимался также орнитологией и энтомологией[1].
